Happy Thanksgiving

To everyone in the United States and to those Americans who might be abroad, have a great Thanksgiving Day!

My wife and I will be spending time with family, watching (and maybe playing) some football and (later this evening) getting everything ready for decorating for Christmas tomorrow.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Christmas Tree

Just thought I would post a picture of our Christmas Tree for this year.

Of course, the picture itself doesn't do it justice, but I just can't help sharing.

Merry Christmas!

Whether you celebrate the religious significance of the holiday, or merely celebrate a time of "good will toward men", I wish you all the Merriest of Christmases!

Off to spend the day with family now...

The Big Chore of the Day

I spent a good part of the afternoon today taking down my Christmas Lights. Yes, it is March 6. Yes, Christmas was two-and-a-half months ago.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Although it's the end of the day, I would still like to take a moment to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

My day was spent with my wife and family at my parents' house. Good food, football and fun were had by all. A very relaxing day that was very much needed.

Christmas Lights

I put up Christmas lights today. The picture below is the result.

I've always loved putting up Christmas lights. I've done it, or helped out every Christmas for as long as I can remember. When I finally got my own house, I honestly could not wait for Christmas, just to put up Christmas lights.

One thing I don't like doing is getting up on that roof (especially at the highest point) and getting near the edge to attach the lights to the roof-line. I've never like heights and I never will. But, it's a small price to pay, I suppose.

One year, I would love to completely deck out the house. Every line, corner and angle having lights. But, before that can happen, some electrical work needs to be done to the house. The only outlet I have to use for these lights is on the deck off the back of the house. I have to run a heavy-duty extension cord up and over the roof to get lights on the front side. What I would like to do eventually is have an outlet installed somewhere up on the roof just for the Christmas lights. Not this year though.

At any rate, I'm pleased with the results. I plan on putting a few more lights in the new flower-garden out front (you can't really see it in the picture above, but I'll post a picture when I get that done). Other than that, I'm done with lights for the year.

Summer Vacation Special

I'm on vacation for the next two weeks. As a result, I will not be able to process registration purchases during that time. So, to make things worth-while for buyers while I'm gone, I'm offering single-user licenses to Print Window Advanced for a special price!

From July 1 until July 17, 2006, you can get single-user licenses for Print Window Advanced for just $9.99. That's 33% off the normal price of $15!

Of course, any purchases made during this time won't be processed until the 17th, but on that day, buyers will receive their registration information.

Everyone have a great 4th of July Holiday (for those in the US)! Be safe! See you all on the 17th!

A Few Christmas Links

I haven't been around here much lately, but I thought I would pop in an provide a few links for Christmas.

TwasTheLightBeforeChristmas.com is an absolutely horrid webpage layout, but the light display it documents is absolutely incredible. My wife and I saw it for the first time tonight (and, indeed, we discovered it by accident). If you are in the Omaha area, it's well worth a visit in person.

ASilentNightMovie.com is one of those Inspirational flash movies that every cringes about from time to time. However, this one actually has a great message and is worth dealing with the fact that you're watching one of those irritating inspirational Flash movies.

If I don't see you all before Christmas itself (only a few days away!), may everyone have a wonderful and blessed Christmas day and season. Even if you don't ascribe to Christmas' religious origins, the secular meaning of the holiday is worth it for everyone to aspire to. Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays. A peaceful Christmas to you all!

Tom Osbourne: Athletic Director of...?

Note to Dave Price at CBS: Tom Osbourne is the Athletic Director at the University of Nebraska, not the University of Oklahoma. What you suggested this morning while the Sooner band was playing at the Macy's Parade was pretty much heresy in most parts of both Nebraska and Oklahoma.

(While the Sooner band was marching in the parade in the background as CBS came back from a commercial break, Mr. Price said something along the lines of "The Sooner marching band is playing behind us. I believe Tom Osbourne was just named Athletic Director there, so that's good. A legend returns.")

Wow. I guess that really does show how irrelevant NU Football has become. It also goes to show that some people just need to stay away from athletics.

(I should also point out that after they came back from the next commercial break, Mr. Price did admit he messed up.)
