Uggh...

I woke up this morning not feeling very well. Somewhat of a sore throat and a headache. But, because of things going on at work and some other factors, I've decided that I don't feel bad enough to take a sick-day. So, today should be fairly miserable all-around. Joy.

The Big Chore of the Day

I spent a good part of the afternoon today taking down my Christmas Lights. Yes, it is March 6. Yes, Christmas was two-and-a-half months ago.

Uggh... (Take Two)

I wrote earlier about how I wasn't feeling well on Thursday. Well, I felt much better on Saturday and Sunday. Monday, however, my throat began to hurt again and by Tuesday evening, it was definitely on fire.

I called out from work today. There was no way I was going to make it through the day there. I feel guilty as sin that I called out (I knew that we were going to be short-handed anyway), but I just wasn't going to be able to do it. I spent most of today in bed doing not much of anything.

Hopefully, I'll be up to going into work tomorrow.

Annoying Entourage 2004 Behavior

I upgraded to Office 2004 at the end of last year and, overall, have been very pleased with the new version of the suite. However, I've run across one very annoying glitch with Entourage 2004 that just frustrates me to no end.

I have my window set so the Preview Pane is on the right of the message list. I have the message list set to a threaded view and have it arranged to show the subjects in alphabetical order. Seems simple enough, right?

Well, what I've run across is that, seemingly randomly, threads will be out of chronological order. This makes it extremely difficult to properly read a thread. Here is an example of what I mean:

Sorry for the poor quality of the screenshot, but it still makes my point. Notice the dates and times. They are in a very random order. To make this even more annoying, when you click on a message that is obviously out of order, Entourage immediately puts that message in the position it should have been in in the first place! And, even more annoying yet, this doesn't happen for every thread! Grrrr...

I've submitted a bug-report to Microsoft, which I'm sure will be promptly ignored.

Other than this one bug, though, I find Entourage 2004 to be a million times better than its predecessor.

Print Window Update

I added a much-requested "feature" to Print Window today. When sorting file lists by name, Print Window will now sort files in the same order as is displayed in the Mac OS X Finder. For example, if you have files named "1", "2", "3", "4", "5", "6", "7", "8", "9" and "10", your file list will print in that order, not 1, 10, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 as in older versions of Print Window.

Note that this is not an announcement of a new version of Print Window being released. There's some other work going on, but this change was requested by so many people, I thought I'd make note that the change has been made.

Bought a Piano

Yesterday, on a whim, my wife went into a local Keyboard Kastle to look at some used pianos. I've been wanting a piano of my own ever since I left college, but never have been able to afford one, nor have I really had the space for one.

However, when we bought our house a few years back, I started thinking about getting a piano. But, with money tight and things to do with the house, again the money just wasn't there.

Anyhoo, back on track, we went to look though the used pianos. I've been in Keyboard Kastle before, but never found anything which really called out to me. I didn't expect today to be any different.
