Print Window Now Available on the Mac App Store

We are excited to announce that Print Window is now available on the Mac App Store!

The version that is available on the Mac App Store is Version 4.1.3 and, because of the rules for being on the App Store, has some significant changes from the normal retail version available from our website:
  • Requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or better.
  • Does not include a built-in software update mechanism.
  • Does not include the Contextual Menu Plugin.
  • Is Advanced Edition only (not available in the Standard Edition from the App Store).
  • Is an Intel-only build. It will not work on PowerPC-based Macs.

Otherwise, Version 4.1.3 is functionally identical to the Version 4.1.2 available from the Searchware Solutions website. Going forward, the two versions of Print Window (the Retail version and the Mac App Store version) will be unified under a common version number.

Print Window 4.1.2 Now Available

Print Window has been updated to Version 4.1.2. This is mainly a bug-fix release. The following changes were made:

  • Fixed a problem that could cause some sorting options to not function correctly.
  • Fixed a problem that would cause multi-level file listings to not indent when using the "Names Only" style and icons were not included.
  • When the "Size" field is not selected, file listings now generate much faster.
  • Progress Window now shows what file is being processed when building folder lists.

This is a free update for all registered users of Print Window Advanced 4.0 or better. As always, the Standard Edition (with fewer options) is free.

Print Window 4.1 Now Available

Print Window 4.1 is now available! This release adds several new features that users have been asking for:

  • Adds an option to print only folders and not any files contained in them.
  • Adds an option to use QuickLook to generate icons for supported file types (this feature available in Print Window Advanced only)
  • Added an option to bold names of folders in file listings.
  • Added services support for Mac OS X 10.6 or greater.
  • Added an option, when using the “File” format, to use the full Unix path of a file in place of a name.
  • Now allows icon sizes up to 256x256 when using the “Names Only” style.
  • Heavily revised the progress window to provide more information and make better use of space.

There are also several bug fixes in this release as well.

This is a FREE update to any registered user of Print Window Advanced 4.0 or better. As always, the Standard Edition (with fewer options) is free.

Coming Soon...

It has been a while, yes, but an update to Print Window is coming soon. This is more than a bug-fix release (although it does have some of that), it also introduces some much-requested, significant new features...

More soon!

Webpage Now Improved for iPhone

We’ve made a few small changes to the website to help it initially display better in Mobile Safari on the iPhone/iPod Touch. Specifically, we’ve added a tag to all the pages, which causes Mobile Safari to make the content area fill the screen as much as possible when initially displayed.

Previously, when a user visited the site using Mobile Safari, the site was rendered to only fill about 3/4 of the screen width. Adding this tag makes Mobile Safari render the site to fill nearly 100% of the screen, making it initially to read. Of course, resizing still works the same as always.

There should be no difference on desktop browsers.
